Correct the Tests

Although some changes have been made to the state tests, there are still many problems that have arisen. Just some of the issues include:

• The state ELA and math tests are flawed and invalid.
   
• The tests are too long.
   
• The tests are developmentally inappropriate and the untimed tests are cruel and traumatic.
   
• Computer-based testing is problematic and has been rolled out too quickly.
   
• The scoring benchmarks are invalid and mislabel kids.

NYSUT is launching a campaign called Correct the Tests. Below is information on a local event that will be happening to educate and lobby for changes to these tests.
