Dear WITA Member,
As the COVID-19 situation continues to unfold, we have been working with the district to adapt a plan moving forward that provides continuity of educational services for our students.
Currently, WITA leadership and the district administration are developing a long-term distance learning plan in the form of an MOA.
We are working hard to develop a model that maximizes learning, is easy and flexible in its implementation, and provides equity to all. We know that there exists many unforeseen challenges. We appreciate input we have received on how to best proceed regarding the unique needs of your grade level and/or subject area.
Obviously, it is extremely difficult for the figurative airplane to be built while it is in flight, but that is exactly what educators across the country have been forced to do. We are proud to be a part of a profession that has stepped up to answer the call to service in the way that educators have.
On a final note, as we begin to transition to a new normal while not in school, many students may be experiencing emotional needs. Please do not hesitate to contact our school counselors, social worker, psychologist, or other support staff as you feel necessary. Once again, health, safety, and social emotional well being are our primary concern.
