A Message from the WITA Executive Board
West Islip Teachers' Association will host a retirement seminar on Tuesday, October 17th, at 4:00 p.m. at Udall Road Middle School. The presenter will be Eric Iberger. Eric is the president of the Bayport-Bluepoint Teachers’ Association and is one of three teacher members of the ten-member New York State Retirement System Board. If you are interested in attending the seminar, please contact Joseph Dixon at president@westislipteachers.org. The teachers of Babylon have also been invited to the retirement seminar.
The NYSUT Suffolk Regional Office is also sponsoring four Teacher Retirement System
workshops on November 20th, 2023, December 4th, 2023, January 8th, 2024 (CLOSED) and February 5th, 2024. The November 20th and January 8th (CLOSED) workshops will be held at the NYSUT Suffolk Regional Office and capped at 45 participants each. The December 4th and February 5th workshops will be held at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Riverhead and capped at 125 participants each. Eric Iberger is also presenting at these workshops.
