Thank you again for your continued support during this difficult negotiations process. This past Thursday night was a turning point for the teachers of West Islip. The superintendent has just informed me that we have an agreement, in principle.
The negotiations team will have to meet with the district at least one more time to tie up any loose ends. These meetings will not be taking place before next Wednesday. Therefore, the general membership meeting scheduled for next Wednesday, May 22nd, must be POSTPONED.
We plan to have a contract to present to the general membership shortly. Our goal is to have this done before the end of this school year.
