A Message from the Board of Directors
The holidays are almost here, and as another year comes to a close, we hope you can look back with pride on our collective accomplishments. We had an active year, and as always, we effectively worked to give our students the best educational experience possible. When cuts were proposed in January, we launched two successful letter-writing campaigns and rallied with local NYSUT members, all to help ensure that schools were appropriately funded for this school year. We supported the community through donations to Our Lady of Lourdes Food Pantry, collected at our homecoming food drive and in each of the buildings for the Essential Needs Pantry. Last week, WITA wrapped up our annual toy drive, giving back to needy children during the holidays.
We accomplished all of this, but the list is incomplete because it does not include all the positive experiences each of you provides to our students every day. There are too many to list here, but they can be seen in classroom parties and lessons on character and kindness. They can be seen in the activities of our clubs and honor societies and in the high standards students are held to. And they can be seen in the example you provide for what succeeding through hard work looks like.
With a long winter break beginning this weekend, we wish you Happy Holidays and hope you can spend it with family and friends, feeling satisfied that this year has been a success!
