Dear WITA Member,

As we wind down our professional week in preparation of welcoming students to our classrooms next week, we wanted to take a moment to reflect.

This past week has brought into stark focus what our educational reality will be moving forward. A tremendous amount of work was done by many of our members in the various committees over the summer, and for that we should all be grateful. The time and effort put in has helped to identify and resolve multitudes of problems and issues. Although many questions and issues remain, we will put our collective best foot forward next week to do what we do best: teach!

Although the start of this school year is unlike anything that could have been imagined, we will still welcome our students into an inclusive, warm and nurturing educational environment, as we always have. We will offer words of support and ears of understanding. We will lend a hand when needed and stand back when they are ready to do it on their own. We will grow and adapt to meet this challenge, as we always have. We will do this because we are teachers, and it is what we have always done, regardless of what the circumstances of the times were. As a union, we will do this together.

WITA strong is UNION strong!

Please enjoy some rest and relaxation during this Labor Day weekend.

In Solidarity,

The Executive Board
