We hope this message finds you happy, healthy, and looking forward to a well-deserved holiday break. As we look back at all the obstacles and challenges that we as a staff have overcome during 2021, the Executive Board hopes you feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. When we began the year, many of us were still teaching hybrid classes and virtual students. By spring, almost all our students had returned to in-person classes and finally, by summer, we successfully completed one of the most demanding and difficult school years educators have ever faced. When we returned this September, we again found new routines, developed new skills, and created a new normal for students as they arrived in our classrooms. Through all this adversity, we have continued to stand together and support each other. This has always been what has made education in West Islip great – our ability to create, collaborate and inspire the students and each other. Please take some time to relax and acknowledge the incredible work that you have been doing. These efforts are an example to a generation of students how to overcome unimaginable circumstances to succeed.
