Message from President, Joe Dixon

I hope this email finds you all doing well. As always, I am extremely impressed and humbled by the tremendous work that you do everyday. I am very excited to announce that WITA has decided to invest in our union's communications and have a series of new communication tools planned. The first is this email we are calling The Pride - The official email for the hardworking members of the West Islip Teachers' Association.

We will be sending this email to the membership on a regular basis with upcoming events, reports on charity work, political action, bargaining updates and reminders of upcoming meetings and social outings. We have retained UCOMM Communications to assist us in this endeavor. UCOMM works with 30 other local unions and labor councils in the Northeast including Babylon Teachers Association, Plainedge Teachers Association, Suffolk AME, and Long Island Teachers to name a few. Working with our leadership team, UCOMM is building a new and improved mobile friendly website with photo and video galleries, social network sharing options, news feeds and event listings. We are also developing a shortcut-like mobile app so you can stay connected with your union when on the go.

In the meantime, make sure you get your fellow WITA members who did not receive this email to contact us with their personal email and cell phone number at westislipteachers@gmail.com.
